Because FWS can run on any custom or commercial PHP-backed software, there's no easy way for FWS to automatically output a copyright - however one is still required (unless you purchase copyright removal).

Upon installing FWS you must edit your domain's index page to include the FWS copyright. For instance if you have a domain "mycooldomain.com", you must edit the index.html, index.htm or index.php file (or whatever the primary entry page is for the domain) and include a copyright at the bottom. We're not too picky about how it looks or where you place it, so long as it is visible. The following HTML code can be used if you wish

CODE
<div id='fws-copyright'><a href='http://firewallscript.com'>Protected by FireWall Script</a></div>

The two important things are the link to firewallscript.com and the text "FireWall Script". The copyright need ONLY be no the primary page for your domain (we do not require it to be added to every page, though you are free to do so if you wish).

If you purchase copyright removal you do not need to add this copyright. We will periodically check all domains with a purchased license and if the copyright is not in place we will first contact you about this, and if need-be we will terminate your account.

With FWS we allow you to purchase licenses for additional domains at a much reduced cost, and we also allow you to purchase copyright removal for those additional domains at a much lower cost than the initial purchase. You MUST first purchase copyright removal for your primary domain before you can purchase additional copyright removal keys for your additional domains.

I dont think its any worse than not having it there. Its most likely going to be a discouragement, which will save you bandwidth and time.
Your free to modify placement and text, all we require is a link back. So maybe you could do "Site NOT protected by Firewall Script" tongue.gif

You are free to 'hide' the copyright with other links or what have you. We do ask that you dont make it invisble via DIV's or tiny fonts though. You could also purchase removal, which I will extend a 50% discount on for CSEO members as well.

Visit Admin Panel > Look & Feel > Click Edit Templates On your skin. > All Global HTML > Click on Global Board Footer..

In there you should see something like the following

CODE
<td width="45%"><% SYNDICATION %><% SKINCHOOSER %> <% LANGCHOOSER %></td>
        <td width="10%" align="center" nowrap="nowrap"><a href="lofiversion/index.php<% LOFIVERSION %>"><b>{ipb.lang['global_lofi']}</b></a></td>
<td width="45%" align="right" nowrap="nowrap"><% QUICKSTATS %>{ipb.lang['global_timeisnow']}: {$time}</td>
    </tr>
</table>

Under that you would add something like this....

CODE
<div id='fws-copyright'><a href='http://firewallscript.com'>Protected by FireWall Script</a></div>

Simple... right ?

NOP !! LOL the firewall will not let me edit ! ROTFLMAO... Help... teehee

The reason you're getting denied is the word "JAVASCRIPT" in the wrapper being submitted.

We're working on the IPB rule pack for exactly this reason - different software may want to allow different things in different places. For now don't worry about it. We'll get with everyone when it goes final to make sure everyone is up to date and everything is legit. smile.gif

Well for some reason this edite didn't work, Larry fixed it by adding it to the wrapper, I will ask him how he did it, and post later.. so I have the copyright at the bottom of just one skin, I have many skins smile.gif I'm lucky to have good friends smile.gif

I honestly don't like he idea of putting "Protected by" because that screams "pleas try to hack me". However, I don't mind adding a link somewhere.

Thats fine, as long as there is a link back with the anchor text of firewall script somewhere.

What happens when you have vulnerability appear, like IPB when loads of people had problems with hackers, they simply googled the name and many boards got hacked.

I understand for a SEO point of view its good for you guys to have the anchor words.

But having a small logo option too instead of text would be better for us as well.

As FWS has no active connection to any DB, there is no gain, or risk- from people googling if it exists. Even if FWS was completely exploitable, there is no connection pass through to your database. Running a "exploitable" version of FWS would still make you more secure than you would be without it, always.

What is the cost for the copyright removal? I don't see a price?
